Fundamental Chemicals (Organic and Inorganic Products)

Our inorganic and organic products support a comfortable daily life in various fields.

One of Kanto Denka Kogyo’s founding businesses, the Fundamental Chemicals Division manufactures caustic soda, chlorine, and hydrogen from salt using the ion-exchange membrane electrolysis method. These are used to produce fundamental chemical products (inorganic and organic), which serve as basic industrial raw materials in a wide range of applications.
Among inorganic products, caustic soda and hydrochloric acid are used in water treatment and the manufacture of various chemical products. Sodium hypochlorite is used as a bleaching and disinfecting agent.
Among organic products, nonflammable chlorine-based solvents such as trichloroethylene and perchloroethylene are used for cleaning metal parts and in dry cleaning. Vinylidene chloride is used as a raw material for flame-retardant fibers and food packaging resins.
To support comfortable living and the advancement of industrial activities, we are committed to ensuring a stable supply of these products.

Paper and Pulp

Caustic soda is used in the manufacture of paper and pulp, and sodium hypochlorite is used in paper bleaching.

Water Treatment

Caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, and sodium hypochlorite are used in the purification of factory wastewater as well as in water supply and sewage treatment.

Metal parts cleaning

Trichloroethylene and perchloroethylene, which have high dissolving power for dirt, are nonflammable and easy to handle, and are used for cleaning metal parts.

Hydrofluorocarbons

Trichloroethylene and perchloroethylene are used as raw materials for hydrofluorocarbons, which are refrigerants for air-conditioning equipment.
