Ferrochemicals

Leading-edge technologies to satisfy heightened expectations for recording media.

Kanto Denka Kogyo’s ferrochemical products make a significant contribution to the information industry, which is paving the way for the next generation. In copiers and printers, which are becoming increasingly multifunctional and high-resolution year by year, the quality of carriers and magnetite that supply toner to photoreceptors is a crucial factor.
Carriers include iron-based, magnetite-based, and ferrite-based types, and we meet a wide range of customer needs by leveraging our proprietary resin coating technology.
In addition, we are mindful of environmental considerations by offering a broad lineup of clean EF ferrites and other products that do not contain heavy metals.
Magnetite is also a key raw material for magnetic toner. We provide various types of magnetite with different shapes, particle sizes, and magnetic properties, which are used in many toner products.
Going forward, we will continue to provide optimal products tailored to the diversifying needs of our customers.

Printer

Magnetite is used in toner for printers.

Reprographic carrier

Ferrochemical, magnetite, and ferrite carriers are used as developers in various copiers.

Environmentally Friendly (EF) carrier

Ferrite carriers that are environmentally friendly and free of heavy metals.

Example of how carriers are used:
Two-component development process

A two-component developer consists of toner and carrier. The carrier plays an important role: being stirred with toner in the developer unit, it gives the toner the appropriate charge through frictional charging, and transports the toner to the photosensitive drum.
